Food is getting more expensive each year. Consumers often use grocery shopping coupons as a way to save money on groceries. There are also people who don't like to clip coupons because it is a tedious task. Who wants to sift through the Sunday paper clipping 25 cent coupons? I admit it can be a boring task but it may be ultimately worth it to save money on food.
The best source for grocery shopping coupons was once the Sunday paper. Now there are printable grocery coupons that are available online. They often make the process of finding coupons much easier. Instead of flipping through pages, you can often search for the item you want and see if there is a coupon available. There are pros and cons of going online and searching through the circulars.
To get the most savings, I utilize both paper and online coupons. There are three supermarkets in my area I like to shop. When I go through the Sunday paper, I like to see which store is having a sale on items I need. One store may have a sale on meats while the other may have a sale on cereal. If there is no coupon in the paper, I search for an online printable coupon. In most cases, I can find the coupon I need. You can also find the store circular on their websites if you don't want to purchase the newspapers.
I know this can seem like a tedious task to find grocery shopping coupons but for me it's well worth it. I can save on food and not sacrifice quality. Being in a one income family, cutting expenses in any way possible is important.
To summarize my process, first I flip through the Sunday paper to find which stores are having sales on items I need. The next step is to see if I can find grocery shopping coupons for these sale items for further savings. My week shopping trips may consist of going to two or three stores in my area for the best possible savings.
