Do you think you are smart and you are saving your money
properly? Then you can check the following checklist and
test your level of smart. If you get less than 3, you are
smart!
1. I am putting all my extra money to bank's saving
account or GIC.
You can't make any money with the saving accounts with your
major banks. Interest rate is really low and almost nothing.
When you put your money to them, they will use your money to
make huge money then give you back only a tiny piece. This
will only make your bank richer and richer.
2. I am renting my place now.
Now you are just wasting your money. You are just paying off
your landlord's mortgage. Be your own landlord yourself! Buy
your own home. Then you will pay off your mortgage and have
your own property. And your home's value will go up in the
future.
3. I am leasing my car.
It is really stupid to lease the car. When you lease, you
will pay more for your car insurance. After lease, you need
to give your car back to the dealer because it's not your
car. Bur your car with monthly payment. You will pay less
insurance and after full payment it will be yours!
4. I am not using coupons or any saving information.
You can save lots of money with coupons. There are tons of
coupons from everywhere! Online coupons, printable coupons,
coupon codes, grocery coupons from internet, newspapers. Why
not? Use them!
5. I am not making the shopping list.
If you go to shopping center without any plan, you cannot
just window shopping yourself. You will find a lot of items
you want to buy and you do buy you will never use! Never go
shopping without shopping list. It also saves your time.
6. I like drinking coffee and smoking
Buying coffee after lunch is refreshing your mind? Smoking
in the break time is really refreshing your body and brain?
If then you will keep wasting your money. Have you ever
calculate the total budget for coffee and smoking per month?
You don't want to know? It is a big. And they also hurt your
body.
What is your score?
