Palais Royale, comprising 75 floors, is India’s first LEED platinum rated residential building. Nestled in the heart of Mumbai at the old Shree Ram Mill premises in Worli, it will have to its credit, many firsts. It will set standards for quality, design, use of technology, environmental aesthetics, urban planning and lifestyle. The project was launched in 2008-end. This iconic building is slated to be one of India’s tallest buildings wand will come to be recognized as a city landmark representing the futuristic image of Mumbai city. The tower will be 1,000 feet high. There will be about 100 apartments on offer, the size of each being around 10,000 sq.ft. One of the many
unique features of the building is its atrium, which is going to be 215m in height and 30m in diameter-making it the world’s tallest atrium in a building.
Designed by renowned architect Noshir Talati, the building is octagonal in shape which not only provides very good stability and least wind resistance, but also makes the structure Vaastu compliant.
For the first time in India, M-80 grade self-compacting concrete is being used to construct all the columns. The building is earthquake-resistant with the provision of VFD dampers.
