What's The Plight Of Michigan Health Insurance If ObamaCare Repealed?

Even though a Detroit judge confirmed the constitutionality of individual Michigan health insurance, some residents worry about the affects of a repeal. With the primary elections four months away coupled with the end of Governor Jennifer Granholm's term, many wonder about the fate of Michigan health insurance, should ObamaCare be repealed.

A survey on ObamaCare was conducted by Stanford University and sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation on behalf of an AP Poll. The finding featured a 30 percent positive feedback regarding the Patient Protection Affordability and Care Act (PPACA) and terms of ObamaCare.

An analysis conducted by the Levin Group calculated that or an estimated $3.3 billion in tax credits would impact 860,000 Michigan families in 2014. Households, ranging from $30,000 and $90,000 would not have to spend more than 4 percent of their income for Michigan health insurance.

Despite the obvious Michigan health insurance benefits, some Republican candidates, such as Bill Schuette, who is running for Michigan Attorney General, are opposed to the government spending and implications of ObamaCare asserts that the health reform bill needs amending or repealing.

Most Michigan insurance representatives extol the newly enforced legislations for preventative care. Cholesterol testing and cancer screening are two important inclusions with all Michigan health insurance policies. These preventative health benefits are recent additions to the ObamaCare or PPACA's requirements.

"That's an estimated value of $2000 in out-of-pocket expenses. Since, this new policy has become effective, our clients appreciate the value of Michigan health insurance benefits. Premiums attribute to a percentage of these benefits," discloses Michael Novelli, president of MichiganHealthandLife.com.

Coverage for children diagnosed with a preexisting medical conditions, preventative health benefits, coverage for dependent children until 26 years old as well as new rescission laws reflect the recent changes to Michigan health insurance.

Since health care agencies have to extend these benefits, along with the tax breaks scheduled for 2014, market research documented by the Associated Press illustrate a 40 percent disapproval rating for ObamaCare. Mr. Novelli speculates: "Even if ObamaCare is repealed current benefits for children, preventative care as well as the rescission laws should not change for Michigan health insurance.
