Cookie Dough Fundraiser: Profitable Money Maker

There are a lot of fundraising options to choose from and non-profit groups wade through them each year. Committee members have to weigh up effort versus profit made to justify the route they plan to take. Organizers casually survey other parents to see what would sell. The internet gives a lot of information too, and what parents will find is that, for your school or sports group, one of the most popular choices is the cookie dough fundraiser.

One reason relates to product quality. Plenty of companies have been watching the trends. Parents want additives and hydrogenated fats out of the food they feed their kids. Wise producers comply, advertising ingredients as all-natural.

The peanut issue also concerns schools greatly. More now than ever, students are issued medicines which could save their lives in the event of an allergic reaction to peanuts. To combat potentially tragic consequences, many elementary schools have gone peanut and even nut-free. Cookie dough companies have caught on too. Check details carefully and it is very possible to find manufacturers who work in peanut-free facilities, though not necessarily nut-free ones.

Types of cookie include traditional favorites and healthier options. Satisfy chocolate lovers with an oatmeal or macadamia-rich variety also stocked with milk, dark or white chocolate chips. Aim for healthier snacks by choosing granola-style cookies brimming with sunflower seeds and dried fruit.

For Halloween, Easter or Valentines Day, forget making dough from scratch. Buy a tub of sugar cookie dough. At the appropriate time, just scoop out enough to make witches, Easter eggs or hearts for just the family or a whole classroom of grateful kids.

Organizers may have encountered the companies that want money up front to send products right away. This leaves families with the pressure of deciding how much to order and what amount they think they can sell. Cookie dough fundraisers work in reverse. Kids get orders and money, then the dough is delivered. It starts out frozen and some thawing could occur, but this does not wreck your product. Re-freezing will not spoil their flavor. This perishable product will last longer when frozen.

Just scoop enough dough from the frozen product to bake one sheet or even just a few cookies at a time. There is also the option of purchasing pre-portioned cookies. This means you get a uniform size and shape, plus no matter what, the rest of your pack stays frozen until their contents are needed.
