With decorating on a budget you will need to make sure that you choose your items wisely, don't go to those stores that charge an arm and a leg, but get into looking at other places. Mix a few styles up and create a room that is uniquely yours. You can even change around how you have your furniture set up, or add some slip covers to them, and move them around. This is one cheap way to go about a brand new look. Don't think that you always need the most expensive items in your collection to have a great looking decor. Expensive items can still be places near cheaper ones, though, provided that the cheaper items are classics or in good taste. Simple furniture pieces with clean lines, for example, are relatively cheap at the store yet will fall right at home with brand-name decor. Plainer items that have a more elegant look to be very versatile design pieces as well. Visiting flea markets and garage sales are great ways to get more furniture and other items to redecorate with. People are just trying to get rid of things they don't want anymore and you will be able to pick up some really great items. Don't overbuy things; get things you don't really need. Stick to the budget. Adding in area rugs are always a great way to change the look of a room. There are so many colors, and shapes of rugs that you shouldn't have a problem finding one that will match the new look of your room. Plus an area rug is not very expensive either! Plan out where you will place the rugs though before you go and buy them. You need to make sure they go with the decor and that the size is right too. Area rugs help to save on the wear and tear of carpet and help to keep a child's room clean too. So you can see that you should easily be able to redecorate on a budget. Use the above ideas and create a brand new wonderful look for your home. |
