Decorating Guidelines For A New Home |

Few things to keep in mind before getting in your old furniture or buying new ones are: The motif of your home has a big role in the overall look of the place. Decide which rooms to paint and which ones to wallpaper. Take into account the space of each area so you can better furnish it with the necessary and appropriate objects. The living room's must-have is the sofa set. A brand new one is better but using your old sofa will do too granted that it goes well with the rest of the room. Decide if you will make it into a formal receiving area or a casual family room with a television set and sound system. Curtains look best whether in a formal or informal living room. Add some accents of flowers, potted plants and wall hangings. Bedroom: A decent bed is all you need. If you already have it then great! Otherwise, its time you go down to the nearest store and purchase it. Storage space for your personal items is necessary and should match your furniture around. A soft, plush area rug placed on either side of the bed, will provide you with a soft place for your feet to land on when you wake up from bed. The children's bedrooms in particular should be decorated with fun designs. The more colorful, the more fun! Ask your kids what they like as color and theme so they will have a personalized space of their own. You can get pictures from magazines, use the children's artworks instead of buying and do your own paintwork on the walls. Fun and educational at the same time. Kitchen: Good storage cabinets along with a side table are required to store cooking utensils, plates, cups, etc. and also give you space to work on. Packaged food lying around can look messy so a cabinet especially for that is required. The kitchen can be made into a cozy and welcoming room despite its very practical purpose as a cooking space. A lively wall color, window treatment, kitchen utensils and personalized items can make the kitchen look more of a family room too. Now that you have your house nearly done you can think of the remaining areas, such as the bathrooms and their accessories, the corridors, the entrance and all the corners that may be left unattended. |
