You are dying to change the look of a room or many rooms in your home. However you know that it will cost a lot of money to accomplish the look you are hoping for. Or maybe you just think it will cost a lot of money. There are many ways in which you can change the look of a room without doing much work or without spending a bunch of money. You don't need to go out and buy all new furniture or a new bed to get a new theme into a room. Following are some great tips that will help you accomplish cheaper decorating.

One of the minimalist looks out there is a modern look. For this type of theme you need to remember that the less you have in a room the better it will look. These rooms may seem a bit boring and drab but you can add a bit of spice into the theme and still accomplish the look without spending a lot of money. Get plywood and some Styrofoam together. You are going to make your own modern looking headboard. Modern design has a lot of geometric shapes in it, so what you need to do is cut out a bunch of shapes from the foam. Make them different sizes and thicknesses if you can. Paint them with a color that you want in your room, than glue them to the headboard. Placing on a nice plain color before you put them on the headboard will work, or you can just paint it white. You have now created a masterpiece and not spent much money.

There are other ways that you can use things like sheets or blankets that you never use. Buy some dye and make sure it's a color that will go in the room you are redecorating. Now dye these pieces of linen that you are using. You can now sew them into slip covers for furniture, curtains, or even throw pillows. You have saved a tremendous amount of money on these items but still changed the look of a room.

There are other ways you can change things, painting a picture frame will change the look of it completely or changing up the pictures that are on your wall. But the two easiest ways that you can change the look of a room are through throw pillows and area rugs. If you already have made your own throw pillows lets' move on to the area rug. You can even recycle your old ones for the next step.

For throw pillows simply purchase some fabric and recover your existing pillows. If this is not possible you can easily create your own using many different materials. One look that can be very fun is to run drapery cord through the center of a water noodle, cover in fabric, and then tie into various shapes like circles or figure eights. This technique will provide several throw pillows for under $10 and because you are creating them yourself you are sure to have colors and shapes that fit your style.

You can even redecorate an old area rug. If the current rug you have matches the design of the room you can change the look of the rug quickly by stamping on some designs using paint and a stamper. But if not, buy a cheaper rug that is only one color and make a new rug out of it by placing some designs using the stamp and paint again.

So you see you can redecorate and not spend a lot of money. These are only a few ideas, try them and see how much you can change the look of your home decor.
